Clinical professorship in gynecological oncology 1004683

A new position as clinical professor in gynecological oncology, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Aarhus University Hospital and affiliated to the Department of Clinical Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences at Aarhus University, is vacant. The position requires concurrent employment as a consultant at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Aarhus University Hospital. You will be employed with reference to head of the department

Together with the Centre Chair professor, the clinical professor will be responsible for research and teaching within gynecological oncology. Together with the chair of the department, the professor will be responsible for the development of the field as described in the “professor agreement”.

Concerning research, we expect a clinical professor with relevant competences at an international professor level, i.e. the research field must include clinical topics. Of course, we will also appreciate experience with other research areas including basic science and epidemiology. Furthermore, the professor should demonstrate experience as leader of research groups, supervision of medical students, PhD students, and post doc fellows. We will also appreciate experience with national and international funding.

Concerning pregraduate teaching, we expect a clinical professor with both formal training and practical experience in teaching medical students, with development of the curriculum, with modern teaching methods including team based leaning, and with production of teaching material. If the professor cannot meet all these competences, it must be focused after the appointment.
Concerning postgraduate teaching, we expect training and supervision of our younger colleagues within the gynecological oncology team.

Required qualifications

In making the appointment, emphasis will be placed on the extent, quality and originality of the applicants body of international scientific publications, including contributions to further developing the subject area in question. Moreover, an assessment will be made of the applicants research management abilities.

A maximum of ten of the publications of greatest relevance to the job must be submitted.
