Research
The research of my group focuses on the composition, architecture and metabolic activity of dental biofilms, with a particular focus on the biofilm matrix and its role in oral disease. Our specialties are quantitative microscopy, chemical and correlative imaging, as well as the development and validation of novel approaches to biofilm control that preserve the benefits of the commensal microbiota.
Teaching activities
I am teaching cariology, with a focus on dental biofilms, operative and aesthetic dentistry, as well as dental materials. Moreover, I am the academic resonsible for the IOOS Video Library, an open educational resource for students and staff that teaches clinical dentistry through a variety of patient cases.
