Profile

I am a specialist in clinical biochemistry and work particularly with the following areas:
- Drug monitoring (TDM)
- Analysis of illicit substances
- The pre-analytical process

I am interested in the use of drug monitoring of, for example, newer medications that find their way into monitoring with the aim of, for example, reducing side effect profiles. A prerequisite for monitoring is good therapeutic intervals that allow assessment of plasma concentrations of the drugs studied.

Job responsibilities

In addition to responsibility for drug monitoring and drug of abuse analysis, I also work with quality assurance of the pre-analytical process in clinical biochemistry on a daily basis. This can be in relation to procedures such as venipuncture or ECG recording, but also analyte specific. Optimizing the pre-analysis can significantly improve the analytical result of a given analysis.
