At AU Health there is a strong focus on critical research into a large number of diseases of the body's organs and functions. In the research emphasis is placed on identifying different forms of disease and exploring causal relations, correlations, combating diseases, treatment methods, prevention and rehabilitation.

The research into diseases of the body's organs and functions at AU Health is divided between the Department of Biomedicine, Department of Clinical Medicine, Department of Dentistry and Oral Health Care and a number of research centres.
