Two postdoc positions in Infection Immunology is available at Aarhus University (AU), Health, Denmark. The positions are for appointment for a two year period beginning 1 May 2018 and 1 July 2018, respectively.

The posts are associated with a larger research program on the genetic and immunological basis of infectious diseases. The successful candidate will be working on projects centering on identification and characterization of novel primary immunodeficiencies associated with susceptibility to virus infections, including herpes encephalitis, recurrent herpes meningitis, poliomyelitis, and severe influenza. The project will be joint between Department of Biomedicine, AU, Department of Clinical Medicine, AU, and Department of Infectious Diseases, Aarhus University Hospital (AUH).

Applicants are expected to have solid background knowledge on clinical infection immunology, genetics, cell biology, and primary immunodeficiencies. Candidates with documented experience in both bioinformatic analysis of genome data and laboratory-based phenotypic cellular characterization will be preferred. Finally, the successful candidate is expected to have ambitions and skills to develop the project to the highest international level, and also to get engaged in supervision of junior students (PhD students, medical students, and master students) in the research group.

Appointment as a postdoc requires academic qualifications at PhD level.
