Post Doc in Environmental Epidemiology 981908

The Department of Public Health, Aarhus University invites applications to a position in the area of Occupational & Environmental Epidemiology to begin as soon as possible. 

The position 

The candidate is expected to take part in the newly established Big Data research group “BERTHA”. The candidate will be responsible for studies of health outcomes related to environmental exposures in a cross disciplinary collaboration, including BERTHA and CIRRAU http://cirrau.au.dk/.

The time-period is two years.

The candidate 

Candidates pursuing internationally recognized research in epidemiology related to environmental exposures indoor as well as outdoor are encouraged to apply. We also welcome applicants studying the genetic modification of the environmental impact on individuals. The successful candidate is expected to complement existing strengths of the Department, to contribute to Departmental activities and to engage in scientific interaction with academic staff. The candidate must have earned a Ph.D. degree within the field of interest. 

Successful candidates will be expected to have: 

• Experience with statistical analysis packages and managing complex datasets
• Publications in peer-reviewed journals
• Motivated, self-directed researcher capable of setting and meeting deadlines and delivering research outputs to the required standard
• Strong organization and team-working skills
• Deliver high quality teaching
• Supervise masters and PhD students
• Write and speak English fluently 

The Department of Public Health, Section for Environment, Occupation & Health 

The Department of Public Health, section for Environment, Occupation & Health is part of the Faculty of Health, Aarhus University and comprises research on how environmental factors within occupations and the ambient environment found in water, indoor and outdoor air effects human health. 

The department of Public Health is responsible for a number of educations: Medicine, Public Health Sciences, Architectural engineering, Arctic Health.

Required qualifications

Appointment as a postdoc requires academic qualifications at PhD level.
