Student worker position at Center of Functionally Integrative Neuroscience (CFIN) 928707

The Applied Imaging and Modelling (AIM) group at CFIN is looking for a student worker to assist in developing and implementing new image processing algorithms. The position is available as soon as possible and until May 9th 2018. 

Job responsibilities:
• Assisting in implementing image processing algorithms, such as image segmentation
• Testing and validating implemented algorithms in close collaboration with scientific personnel
• Assisting in analyzing MR images for various research projects at CFIN

Qualifications:
• Programming in C or Python
• Knowledge of Matlab is a plus, not required
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix is a plus, not required
• Experience with algorithm development is preferred

Expected work load is 10 hours per week. Working hours are flexible and may be distributed as desired.

The student worker will be joining the AIM group at CFIN. The AIM group engages in interdisciplinary collaborations within neuroimaging research using various acquisition modalities, primarily MRI. Our focus is on image processing, statistical modelling, and prediction. The AIM group is involved in a number of projects with internal and external partners, ranging from optimizing cortical thickness measurements in monkeys, over characterizing abnormal brain structure in psychiatric disorders, to measuring changes in cerebral perfusion in Alzheimer’s disease.

Center of Functionally Integrative Neuroscience (CFIN) is a cross-disciplinary research center at Department of Clinical Medicine at Aarhus University placed at Aarhus University Hospital, Nørrebrogade. Researchers at CFIN represent a wide range of scientific areas and participate in a large number of different cross-disciplinary research collaborations with the brain as focus (see www.cfin.au.dk for more information).
