MATCH MAKING DAY

At Match Making Day we focus on creating collaboration. We gather students, researchers and company representatives within the health scientific area with an aim to "match" students and supervisors.

During the event, there will be different talks for students who are looking for a supervisor, project presentations by researchers and company representatives, and a poster session where students, researchers and company representatives will have the chance to meet.

Match Making Day is organised by Society for Medical Student Research in close collaboration with Faculty of Health and Graduate School of Health, Aarhus University. The event will take place once a year.

Student

Match Making Day is your chance to prepare for e.g. your Bachelor's Degree thesis or Master's Degree thesis. You can be introduced to a number of projects taking place at Aarhus University or in the industry and meet potential supervisors for your independent study project.

Also, this event is relevant to you if you wish to engage in a research or industrial project concurrently with your studies, e.g. as part of the Research Honours Programme, a Research Year (for medical and odontology students) or as a spare time project.

What's in it for me?

  • Talks regarding choice of project and supervisor
  • Presentation of research and industrial projects
  • A chance to meet potential supervisors personally
  • A chance to get advice and guidance from the Society for Medical Student Research, the Graduate School of Health and former Health students

Who can participate?

We welcome all Bachelor's, Master's and PhD students at Aarhus University.

How to register?

Once registration is opened: Click the "Register" button in the right sidebar. Choose "student".

We kindly ask you to register for the event. Your participation is free of charge.

Company

Match Making Day is a unique chance for companies to recruit talented students from Faculty of Health to current or future projects. Also, it is possible to talk to independent research groups from AU about potential collaboration in the future.

What's in it for me?

  • Give a ”flash-talk” about your project to a large group of students and/or scientific staff members
  • Personally talk to students with different study background
  • Get an overview of the research projects at AU and AUH, and talk to scientific staff members responsible for the projects

Regarding "flash talks"
Flash talk is your chance to introduce your project before the following poster session. We encourage you to highlight what your research group has to offer for students.

When and where to do your "flash talk" will appear from the programme (TBA).

A "flash talk" is a 3 minute talk. You are welcome to use power point. We kindly ask you to submit your power point slides to [contact TBA] no later than [date TBA].

We have a limited number of "flash talks" available. We will pick out "flash talks" that together represent the width of the research at Health. After the registration deadline, we will inform you whether we can offer you a "flash talk".

Who can participate?

We welcome all companies engaged in projects within the health science field; both private and public sector.

How to register?

Once registration is opened: Click the "Register" button in the right sidebar. Choose "Company".

If relevant, please upload a PDF to be included in the poster bank when you register. You are also welcome to upload the PDF to your registration later - however no later than [date TBA]. Find poster template.
Dimensions of the posterboards are 150 (W) x 120 cm (H).

Each company can include one project. You are however welcome to have more participants for the same project. Each company representative must register for the event with the same project title etc.

If you wish to include more projects, please contact the organisers
