The LigthRail Seminar series aims to bridge basic and clinical inflammation & infection research at AU and AUH. You can look forward to presentations and discussions with researchers from Health, Aarhus University

Host: by Torben Steiniche

Tentative programme:

Torben Steiniche: Hallmarks of cancer

Introducing inflammation as a hallmark underscores the dual role of the immune system in cancer: it can both fight against and promote tumor growth.

Anne Helene Køstner: Fueling the flames of colon cancer – Tumor-associated Inflammation – a double-edged sword.

The association between systemic inflammation, as shown by markers like CRP, and cancer highlights the significance of the inflammatory response in the progression and outcome of the disease. It suggests that targeting inflammation could be a valuable strategy in cancer therapy.

Henrik Smith: Using the immune system to target cancer.

Using the immune system to target cancer has transformed the landscape of cancer treatment, offering hope for many patients with previously untreatable cancers.

Christian Lodberg Hvas: The intestinal microbiome and cancer therapies – a case for fecal microbiota transplantation?

Louise Bønnelykke-Behrndtz: Title TBA
