Forskning
Peter Christensen is a consultant colorectal surgeon and professor in pelvic floor surgery at Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark. He led the development of the multidisciplinary pelvic floor unit and is now head of the Danish Cancer Society National Research Centre for late Adverse effects of cancer in the pelvic organs. His research covers a broad spectrum, including organ rehabilitation following cancer therapy, the development of patient-reported outcome measures and surgery for bowel dysfunction. He has a dedicated interest in minimally invasive treatment modalities for functional bowel dysfunction and rectal prolapse surgery. He is a member of the European Society of Coloproctology (ESCP) Programme Committee, the ESCP Communication Committee and the ESCP Global Reach Committee. He is a newly appointed Honorary Fellow of the American Society of Colorectal Surgeons.
