Profil

I am currently a Neuroscience Academy Denmark (NAD) PhD fellow located at the Translational Neuropsychiatry Unit in the lab of Heidi Kaastrup Müller.

I was awarded the NAD fellowship in 2023, a fully-funded PhD program supported by the Lundbeck Foundation. This included a pre-PhD year with rotations, where I visited the labs of Prof. Yonglun Luo (AU), Prof. Ulrik Gether (KU), Prof. Daniel Otzen, and Prof. Jørgen Kjems (AU).

I completed a Master's in Molecular Medicine at Aarhus University in 2022.

Forskning

My research focuses on the molecular mechanisms underlying Alzheimer's disease and frontotemporal dementia.

I am particularly interested in investigating the consequences of risk-associated sortilin variants, and studying the functions of protein fragments generated upon ectodomain shedding.

I primarily work with molecular, biochemical, and cellular approaches to gain understanding of mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration, with the overall aim to identify potential therapeutic targets.
