Profile

Does Parkinson's Disease start in the brain or in the body? Or both?
This question first captured my curiosity and has continued to guide my academic journey. I’m a neuroscience researcher-in-training with a background in biotechnology and bioinformatics, harboring a strong interest in understanding how neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson’s disease disrupt the body and the brain. I’m drawn to the complexity of Parkinson’s—not just as a clinical condition, but as a puzzle that spans biology, behavior, and technology. At the core of my work is a commitment to asking simple questions to disentangle complex scientific phenomena.

Research

I aim to investigate the neural mechanisms underlying Parkinson’s disease, with a particular focus on MRI-based biomarkers for disease progression and subtype differentiation. My research interests lie in leveraging advanced MRI-based neuroimaging along with supporting biological, clinical and psychiatric data to holistically explore structural and functional alterations in patients with early- moderate- and late-stage Parkinson's Disease, aiming to improve early diagnosis and personalized treatment strategies.
