As Head of Section, I hold overall responsibility for teaching, research, and clinical development in orthodontics at Aarhus University. My research focuses on treatment optimization, the use of artificial intelligence in orthodontics, temporomandibular joint disorders, craniofacial conditions, and patient injuries related to orthodontic treatment.
I am responsible for teaching in both the undergraduate dental program and the postgraduate orthodontic specialist training, and I supervise master's, specialist, and PhD students. In addition, I provide patient care and clinical teaching at the Craniofacial Center (Rheumatology). My work is anchored in broad interdisciplinary and international collaboration.
As part of my role, I provide research-based advisory services as a professional consultant for the Danish Patient Compensation Act and the Danish Patient Safety Authority.
I participate in research within the following areas:
I have overall responsibility for the teaching of orthodontics in the undergraduate dental program as well as in the postgraduate orthodontic program, which is a three-year specialist training for dentists wishing to specialize in orthodontics.
In addition, I supervise research projects at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD levels.
As an educator, I believe it is important to create a trusting, engaging, and safe environment for learning and research supervision.
