I graduated as a doctor at Aarhus University in 2011 and defended my PhD thesis in 2014. I completed my training as a specialist in cardiac medicine (cardiology) in 2023. In both my clinical work and my research, I focus on treatment and prevention of blood clots as well as the investigation of coronary artery disease (CT scanning of the heart). I am the daily manager of the blood clot clinic (Thrombosis Clinic) at the Regional Hospital in Gødstrup and am affiliated with Aarhus University as both a clinical associate professor (research) and an undergraduate associate professor with responsibility for education.
I conduct research in the specialty of cardiology called thrombocardiology, with particular focus on venous thromboembolism (venous blood clots). Using both registry-based and prospective clinical research, my goal is to uncover risk factors for the formation of venous blood clots and test new treatment regimens.
