Aarhus researcher honored for work in medical education
Rune Dall Jensen, Associate Professor at the Department of Clinical Medicine at Aarhus University, as well as Head of Simulation & Research at MidtSim, Central Denmark Region, has been appointed a KIPRIME Fellow at the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden. This honorary award is given to exceptionally promising talents in the field of medical education research.
Rune Dall Jensen’s research focuses on how surgeons’ technical skills are influenced by their own cognitive and interpersonal competencies, such as communication, collaboration, empathy, and conflict resolution, particularly within simulated learning environments. His work plays a significant role in shaping surgical training programs and impacts the care provided to patients during and after such training.
The aim of appointing KIPRIME Fellows is to strengthen the next generation of research leaders. Fellows are invited to a seminar at the Karolinska Institutet designed to enhance their potential for international impact.
“The fellowship appointment is a recognition that the research strategy we pursue in Aarhus is of the highest international quality. Receiving this award is a great honor, and it opens up new opportunities for collaboration while strengthening our global position,” says Rune Dall Jensen.
The KIPRIME project is a collaboration between the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden and the Gunnar Höglund and Anna-Stina Malmborg Foundation. Every two years, the program selects 14 talented mid-career researchers as fellows, all nominated by previous KIPRIME award recipients.
