Cecilia Høst Ramlau-Hansen is an expert in reproductive epidemiology and has dedicated her career to studying how early-life influences - particularly during fetal development - affect reproductive health. Her research includes investigating how maternal lifestyle during pregnancy and endocrine-disrupting chemicals impact pubertal development, semen quality, fertility, and infertility in offspring.

"The Elite Research Prize means a great deal to me. I am incredibly happy and proud of this recognition, which is one of the highest honors a researcher can receive in Denmark. Receiving this award confirms that my research is both highly relevant and at the forefront of international science," says Cecilia Høst Ramlau-Hansen.

The goal of Cecilia Høst Ramlau-Hansen’s research is to identify causes of impaired reproductive health, enabling the prevention of issues such as low fertility and reduced reproductive capacity in future generations. She conducts large-scale epidemiological studies based on Nordic birth cohorts and national registries.

The Elite Research Prize comes with an honorary recognition and a grant of 1.2 million DKK, the majority of which is earmarked for research.
