Health lecturer receives award for groundbreaking heart research

Clinical associate professor and cardiologist Evald Høj Christiansen from the Department of Clinical Medicine and Aarhus University Hospital conducts research in, among other things, balloon expansion of the heart’s coronary arteries. Now he receives the Danish Cardiology Society’s Research Award of DKK 25,000.

On Friday, May 12, 2023, clinical associate professor and cardiologist Evald Høj Christiansen received the Danish Cardiology Society’s (DCS) annual research prize for his remarkable research efforts, especially within the treatment of ischemic heart disease.

According to the Heart Foundation, Evald Høj Christiansen is a leader in the treatment of chronically occluded coronary arteries both in Denmark and internationally, and he has had a significant impact on the medical treatment of patients with cardiovascular diseases.

Evald Høj Christiansen has contributed to 400 publications and accounts for a large number of quotations, and he is and has been a supervisor for a number of PhD and research year students.
