Honorary professor strengthens research in infectious diseases and public health
Eyal Oren has been appointed honorary professor of epidemiology at the Department of Clinical Medicine and the Department of Clinical Epidemiology (KEA) at Aarhus University. The appointment marks the beginning of closer collaboration between Aarhus University and San Diego State University in California.

Eyal Oren is an expert in infectious diseases and respiratory health, with research focusing on COVID-19, tuberculosis, influenza, tobacco smoke, and asthma. His work also spans the intersection between infectious and chronic diseases such as cancer, as well as the impact of environmental factors on disease development.
“I work with both registry-based analyses and community-based research, aiming to develop new strategies that can make a real difference to public health. At the same time, I am deeply committed to educating and mentoring the next generation of researchers, and I look forward to contributing to that part as well at Aarhus University,” says Eyal Oren.
The newly appointed adjunct professor's research is relevant both to the public and to policymakers implementing health strategies. The appointment also strengthens both new and existing collaborations in research and education between Aarhus University and San Diego State University, where Eyal Oren holds a professorship.
