Department of Clinical Medicine
As a bioanalyst at the Department of Clinical Medicine, you will be part of what is probably the largest health science research institute in Denmark. The clinical research covers all the medical specialties and takes place in collaboration with the university hospital and the regional hospitals in the Central Denmark Region. We have approximately 30,000 m2 of modern research facilities for experimental surgery and medicine, animal facilities and advanced scanners. The department has overall responsibility for the Master's degree programmes in medicine and in molecular medicine. At the department, we are approximately 425 academic staff and just as many PhD students who collaborate across disciplines. You can read more about the department here and about the faculty here.TNU is part of the Department of Clinical Medicine. The unit is located at AUH Skejby. We are currently 45 employees/associates, the majority of whom are engaged in scientific work. The laboratories are rated for 3 bioanalysts/laboratory technicians. The basic research includes neuropharmacology, cell and molecular biology, where a number of researchers are employed (professors/associate professors, post docs, PhD students, Master's thesis and research year students), as well as research bioanalysts and administrative staff.
Your tasks
As a Research Bioanalyst/Laboratory Technician, your tasks are within the areas covered by TNU. Your tasks will primarily be within (but not limited to) the field of molecular biology, and may be, for example,- Extraction of DNA/RNA/miRNA
- Real-time qPCR
- Western blotting
- ELISA-analyser
- cloning
- Cell experiments
- in situ hybridisering
- Autoradiographs
- setting up and optimising new methods
You are expected to participate in the ordinary operation of the laboratory, including the purchase of reagents and chemicals, as well as participate in the acquisition, maintenance and commissioning of new equipment.
In basic research, rats and mice are used as laboratory animals. You are expected to participate in the implementation of the animal testing activities. These include the extraction of organs, dissecting of regions of interest, injections, various behavioral tests, and the killing of the animals. Zookeepers in the shared animal barn take care of the daily care of the animals.

Your competencies
You have a relevant education and preferably both theoretical/practical experience with the tasks within TNU's field of activity.As a person, you have good collaboration skills, are accommodating, flexible and have the ability to contribute to a good working environment.
