Associate Professor at Department of Biomedicine, Aarhus University and Head of The Occupational Health & Safety Organization at Department of Biomedicine, Aarhus University.
For more than 25 years I have been working with transport of water and salts in specific cells in the renal tubular system. I am particularly interested in the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying the kidney disease lithium-induced Nephrogenic Diabetes Insipidus. Patients with bipolar disorders are treated with lithium salts, and lithium can unfortunately cause Nephrogenic Diabetes Insipidus with severe polyuria and polydipsia.
I am a lecturer, class teacher and examiner in Cell Biology, and Functional Anatomy and Histology at the medical school. I am a supervisor in medical bachelor's theses at the medical school.
