Profile

As an associate teaching professor, I am engaged in academic program management, teaching, and research. My work focuses on enhancing the relevance and maintaining the academic quality of the bachelor's and master's programs in Sports Science. My teaching areas range from sports pedagogy and performance optimization in talent and elite environments at the bachelor's level to project-based courses and thesis supervision at the master's level. I hold degrees in sports science, applied visual communication, and pedagogy and have previously played professional football, worked as a folk high school teacher, sports consultant, and physical trainer.

Research

My main research interests include talent development, dual career, and transitions in elite sport, with a particular focus on football. Additionally, I have conducted educational research, including learning processes at the intersection of academia and practice, internships, and employability.

Teaching activities

I teach sports pedagogy and performance optimization in talent and elite environments at the bachelor's program in Sports Science, as well as project-based courses at the master's level. My teaching methods vary from traditional lectures, case-based learning, student presentations, and different feedback formats. Furthermore, I have contributed to the development of new curricula and accreditations and have played a significant role in formulating the faculty's pedagogical principles and values for all educations at the Faculty of Health. This has given me deep insight into both the strategic and political aspects, as well as the course-specific and operational levels of education. I have twice before (in 2024 and 2021) been nominated for Aarhus University's Pedagogical Honorary Award.

Consultancy

My profile has led to various consulting roles in different organizations: the Danish Football Association (talent conference and mental well-being), expert advisory roles in sports-related matters, sports facilities, Danes' exercise habits, and the establishment of a sports-focused boarding school (Project Kongelunden, Favrholm Stadion Kvarter, and Sport Academy Denmark).

Job responsibilities

My primary responsibility is academic program management and strategic development of our Education programs. Additionally, I lead the development group that focuses on practical sports, dissemination, and pedagogy within the Section for Sports Science.
