I conduct research on prevention within public health science and in relation to nursing and the healthcare system. My research focuses on mental health, illness, and work participation. Additionally, I have a particular interest in topics directly related to the healthcare sector, including interprofessional collaboration, person-centered care and treatment, and evidence-based practice. I am also continually engaged in developing qualitative methods, especially qualitative content analysis, to enhance the quality of qualitative studies.
My research focuses on prevention within public health science and in relation to nursing and the healthcare system. I have a particular research interest in qualitative methods and systematic reviews, which form the foundation of my contributions to the institute’s research and research-based education. My research provides new knowledge and initiatives that support the needs of the populations in question, whether it be young adults with a mental illness, elderly citizens, healthcare professionals, or leaders in the healthcare sector.
I teach students on the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes in Public Health Science, the Master’s degree programme in Nursing, and the Master in Clinical Nursing. I also supervise student writing their thesis in both Public Health Science and Nursing. Additionally, I am a member of the Board of Studies for Health Sciences, focusing on quality assurance of educational programs.
I collaborate with private actors, including the consulting firm Mannaz, and public actors in the healthcare sector, and thereby contributes to evidence-based practice, prevention, and health care. I am also actively involved in international research collaborations and networks, including at Santarém Polytechnic University, Health, School of Education, Portugal.
Based on my research on mental health and disease and work participation, I advise workplaces on how to promote mental health in the workplace. Furthermore, I am a member of the scientific committee for the annual international World Conference of Qualitative Research, and I serve as a reviewer for scientific journals, including New Trends in Qualitative Research (NTQR) and The Qualitative Report.
My primary responsibility is research and research-based teaching, including collaboration with students, international and national partners within both the public and private labor markets and the healthcare sector.
