Research

I am particularly interested in researching the interplay between drugs of abuse and their molecular targets in the brain. We wish to both understand the molecular pharmacology of drugs of abuse and determine whether there are particular beneficial drug effects that can be harnessed for treatment of e.g. psychiatric disorders. In addition, we focus on developing new methodologies for detection of drugs of abuse and neurotransmitters utilizing biosensors in functional assays.

Teaching activities

I teach the neurobiology of addiction and drugs abuse as well as the molecular pharmacology of psychostimulants, hallucinogens and antidepressants.
Course organizer of summer school on "Psychoactive drugs in forensic medicine".
I also teach responsible coduct of research (plagiarism) to PhD students.
