Facts

Duration: 1-2 days

Price:

  • 1-day course: DKK 6000
  • 2-day course: DKK 9000

Place: Aarhus

Language: English

The aim of the course is to give the participants both theoretical and practical knowledge in the DC/TMD (1-day course) and DC/TMD calibration training (2-day course) with the overall aim that clinical examiners are standardized in their examination, diagnosis, and assessment procedures in the conduct of the Axis I Clinical Examination for DC/TMD.

Target groups

  • 1-day course: General dentists/clinicians who wish to use the DC/TMD in clinical practice.
  • 2-day course: Clinicians with a special interest in TMD and researchers who wish to use the DC/TMD for scientific studies.

Course description

  • Option one: 1-day course
Lectures: General principles and detailed description of the DC/TMD examination procedures including the Axis I, Axis II, and the algorithms. An overview of the changes from RDC/TMD to the DC/TMD. Palpeter ® (palpometer for accurate muscle palpation).
Practical and hands-on: Demonstration of the DC/TMD and clinical training in TMD patients so that the individual examiners become familiar with DC/TMD specific examination methods, materials and sequencing of clinical examination procedures.
  • Option two: 2-day course
The 1-day course + calibration training the second day. Each individual examiner compares with other examiners their DC/TMD examination findings with a Gold Standard Examiner. Calibration involves all course participants clinically examining the same TMD patients and some asymptomatic controls (in total 16 persons).
