On Wednesday afternoon, professors, associate professors, assistant professors and postdocs from the faculty's five departments came together in Stakladen. They participated in the faculty's first Interdisciplinary Research Meeting, and they especially learned about how we at Health can help each other better.

From time to time, researchers will buy  e.g. molecular analyses, biostatistical advice, cell cultivation, histology or 3D printing services elsewhere, because they are not aware that we have excellent core facilities at Health for precisely that.

At the meeting in Stakladen, there were colorful AI illustrations, presentations told like fairy tales and examples of how the dead help the living in analyses of small molecules at the Department of Forensic Medicine. We learned about neuropsychiatric research on humans and animals, and we heard that the core facilities at the Department of Odontology and Oral Health can cut everything.

"It impresses me to experience so compressed how much we can do at Health. The afternoon was a demonstration of the faculty's breadth and strengths, and I am pleased to see the great interest the researchers have in each other's fields," says vice-dean for research Hans Erik Bøtker.

He hopes that the Interdisciplinary Research Meeting will become a tradition that can inspire even more interdisciplinary collaboration.
