Professor Noelle Marie Cocoros looks forward to contributing to research on the causes and consequences of infectious diseases alongside her new colleagues at the Department of Clinical Medicine. Noelle Marie Cocoros’ research focuses on respiratory infections and disparities in disease burden and mortality among different population groups.

“Respiratory infections affect us all - whether during a typical flu season or a pandemic. It is therefore important to understand the factors that increase an individual’s risk of developing a severe respiratory infection, both at the individual and population levels,” says Noelle Marie Cocoros. She continues:

“I hope my research will be of use to public health professionals in Denmark and internationally. Additionally, I look forward to teaching students about public health surveillance and epidemiology and serving as a mentor for PhD students and postdocs.”

In her research, Noelle Marie Cocoros uses health data to answer major public health questions. Over the past 15 years, she has developed a strong collaboration with colleagues from the Department of Clinical Epidemiology in Aarhus.
