Mohit Kothari, who is a dentist and associate professor at the Department of Clinical Medicine, has dedicated his research to mitigating some of the many conditions that often follow in the wake of a brain injury, and which can affect the quality of life of individual patients. Patients may for example find it difficult to swallow, and Mohit Kothari has, amongst other things, developed treatment programmes that help people with the long-term side effects of brain damage to regain the swallowing function and good oral health in general. He is now being honoured with the Bagger-Sørensen Foundation’s Young Researcher Award.

Along with the award, Mohit Kothari receives a personal prize of DKK 100,000 for his extraordinary efforts in the field of dental research.

This year, the Bagger-Sørensen Foundation is awarding its Young Researcher Prize to two young scientists under the age of 40 who have made a special contribution to research. The other award winner is postdoc Lærke Smidt Gasbjerg of Herlev and Gentofte Hospital and the University of Copenhagen.
