Medical student awarded royal travel grant

Master’s and pre-graduate research student Johanne Jul Elnegaard from Health receives the Queen Margrethe II Travel Grant.

Johanne Jul Elnegaard is one of five students at Aarhus University to receive the coveted Queen Margrethe II Travel Grant.

As a pre-graduate research student, Johanne Jul Elnegaard has worked on a project about obesity and the liver’s accumulation of fat, and has published a research article on the topic.

The Queen Margrethe II travel grant will enable Johanne Jul Elnegaard to attend an international conference in Canada focusing on obesity and diabetes, where she will present her research findings.

Alongside her studies and research, Johanne Jul Elnegaard is a student teacher in the subjects of cell biology and histology, and she also works to create a good framework for medical studies in the board of studies, the medical council and the departmental forum at the Department of Biomedicine.
