After the defence and on the basis of the assessment committee’s recommendation and the protocol, the Health PhD Administration asks the Academic Council to decide whether the higher doctoral degree can be awarded to the higher doctoral candidate.

If the higher doctoral degree can be awarded, the higher doctoral candidate receives written notification that he/she has been conferred the higher doctoral degree by the Academic Council.

Following this, a higher doctoral degree certificate is prepared and will afterwards be sent via mail service to the higher doctoral candidate.

If the higher doctoral candidate wishes to order a doctoral ring (see section 2(3) of the Ministerial Order), this may be done via: The University of Copenhagen, Central Administration, Corporate Finance, email: oko-hovedkassen@adm.ku.dk. A copy of the higher doctoral degree certificate must be attached as documentation for attaining the higher doctoral degree.
